Around me

Lord, all around me people seem to be rushing in a thousand directions, caught up in the things that count for making this life easier and more successful. Help me to strengthen my grasp of what is expected of me as a Christian, and never to give time to the evil desires of this world. When I am tempted, please remind me to pray. When I am lonely, hurt, annoyed, and turned in on my own small world, please reach down, straighten me up and direct my course. Increase my faith in your son, Jesus, and lead me to him.[1]
