1 Samuel 12: 24

Samuel’s Last Words to Israel

24 Only fear the Lord and be faithful to worship Him with all your heart. Think of the great things He has done for you.

Jeremiah 26:13

13 So now change your ways and your works, and obey the voice of the Lord your God. Then the Lord will change His mind about the trouble He has said would come to you.

Psalm 37:27-28

27 Turn from sin, and do good, so you will live forever. 28 For the Lord loves what is fair and right. He does not leave the people alone who belong to Him. They are kept forever. But the children of the sinful will be cut off.

Psalm 126:5

A Prayer for Help

5 Those who plant with tears will gather fruit with songs of joy. 6 He who goes out crying as he carries his bag of seed will return with songs of joy as he brings much grain with him.

Hebrews 6:10-12

Going Ahead

10 God always does what is right. He will not forget the work you did to help the Christians and the work you are still doing to help them. This shows your love for Christ. 11 We want each one of you to keep on working to the end. Then what you hope for, will happen. 12 Do not be lazy. Be like those who have faith and have not given up. They will receive what God has promised them.

Hebrews 7:22

A Different Religious Leader Has Come

22 Christ makes this New Way of Worship sure for us because of God’s promise.

Hebrews 7:24-26

24 But Jesus lives forever. He is the Religious Leader forever. It will never change. 25 And so Jesus is able, now and forever, to save from the punishment of sin all who come to God through Him because He lives forever to pray for them. 26 We need such a Religious Leader Who made the way for man to go to God. Jesus is holy and has no guilt. He has never sinned and is different from sinful men. He has the place of honor above the heavens.

John 13:1-17

Jesus Washes the Feet of His Followers

13 It was before the special religious gathering to remember how the Jews left Egypt. Jesus knew the time had come for Him to leave this world and go to the Father. He had loved His own who were in the world. He loved them to the end. 2 He and His followers were having supper. Satan had put the thought into the heart of Judas Iscariot of handing Jesus over to the leaders of the country. 3 Jesus knew the Father had put everything into His hands. He knew He had come from God and was going back to God. 4 Jesus got up from the supper and took off His coat. He picked up a cloth and put it around Him. 5 Then He put water into a wash pan and began to wash the feet of His followers. He dried their feet with the cloth He had put around Himself.

Peter Speaks Out against Jesus Washing His Feet

6 Jesus came to Simon Peter. Peter said to Him, “Lord, are You going to wash my feet?” 7 Jesus answered him, “You do not understand now what I am doing but you will later.” 8 Peter said to Him, “I will never let You wash my feet.” Jesus said, “Unless I wash you, you will not be a part of Me.” 9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, do not wash only my feet, but wash my hands and my head also.” 10 Jesus said to him, “Anyone who has washed his body needs only to wash his feet. Then he is clean all over. You are all clean except one.” 11 Jesus knew who was going to hand Him over to the leaders. That is why He said, “You are all clean except one.”

Jesus Tells Why He Washed Their Feet

12 Jesus washed their feet and put on His coat. Then He sat down again and said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord. You are right because that is what I am. 14 I am your Teacher and Lord. I have washed your feet. You should wash each other’s feet also. 15 I have done this to show you what should be done. You should do as I have done to you. 16 For sure, I tell you, a workman who is owned by someone is not greater than his owner. One who is sent is not greater than the one who sent him. 17 If you know these things, you will be happy if you do them.

Mark 8:22-26

Jesus Heals a Blind Man

22 Then they came to the town of Bethsaida. Some people brought a blind man to Jesus. They asked if He would touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand out of town. Then He spit on the eyes of the blind man and put His hands on him. He asked, “Do you see anything?” 24 The blind man looked up and said, “I see some men. They look like trees, walking.” 25 Jesus put His hands on the man’s eyes again and told him to look up. Then he was healed and saw everything well. 26 Jesus sent him to his home and said, “Do not go into the town, *or tell it to anyone there.”

Mark 10:46-52

Healing of the Blind Man

46 Then they came to the city of Jericho. When He was leaving the city with His followers and many people, a blind man was sitting by the road. He was asking people for food or money as they passed by. His name was Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus. 47 He heard that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. He began to speak with a loud voice, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, take pity on me!” 48 Many people spoke sharp words to the blind man telling him not to call out like that. But he spoke all the more. He said, “Son of David, take pity on me.” 49 Jesus stopped and told them to call the blind man. They called to him and said, “Take hope! Stand up, He is calling for you!” 50 As he jumped up, he threw off his coat and came to Jesus. 51 Jesus said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Lord, I want to see!” 52 Jesus said, “Go! Your faith has healed you.” At once he could see and he followed Jesus down the road.
